DBS Bank has appointed Kanika Pal as Senior Vice President and Head of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), bringing in extensive experience from the World Economic Forum and other global platforms to strengthen the bank’s sustainability and social impact agenda.
In her new role, Pal will lead DBS Bank’s CSR strategy and programmes, overseeing community initiatives, partnerships and impact frameworks that align with the bank’s broader sustainability and purpose-led growth priorities. DBS has been actively expanding its sustainability financing, climate-focused products and social impact work, and the appointment is positioned as a step to deepen and scale its CSR efforts across markets.
Pal’s background includes senior roles at the World Economic Forum, where she worked on multi-stakeholder initiatives spanning sustainability, social impact and public-private collaboration. This experience is expected to inform DBS Bank’s approach to designing high-impact CSR programmes, forging strategic partnerships and integrating social considerations into its wider ESG and sustainability narrative.
The appointment comes at a time when DBS is reporting strong financial performance and raising guidance, with wealth management and treasury businesses driving growth, even as the bank continues to invest in sustainability, digital transformation and talent. Within this context, Pal’s mandate will likely include sharpening the bank’s community engagement, measuring social outcomes and ensuring CSR remains closely tied to DBS’s business strategy and stakeholder expectations.
