Coca-Cola has launched a new global campaign titled ‘The World Will Wait’, encouraging people to step away from digital distractions and make time for shared meals with family and friends. Developed as an integrated brand initiative, the campaign targets Gen Z and Millennials who are managing busy careers, demanding schedules, constant notifications, and the pressure to remain available at all times.
The campaign is built around a simple idea: while work, household tasks, and digital demands may feel urgent, meaningful moments around the table should not be postponed. Coca-Cola positions itself as a companion to these occasions, linking the brand with the emotional value of conversation, togetherness, and being fully present during a meal.
The campaign includes two hero films, ‘Laptop Face’ and ‘The Most Important Meeting’. The films portray familiar situations in which people become absorbed in work or other responsibilities and miss opportunities to connect with loved ones. The storytelling then shifts the focus back to the table, reinforcing the message that some moments deserve immediate attention.
A central part of the initiative is the #AFKMeals movement. Inspired by the gaming term ‘AFK’, or ‘Away From Keyboard’, Coca-Cola is encouraging influencers and consumers to treat stepping away from screens as a positive choice rather than something that requires an apology. Participants are being invited to log off, share a meal, and celebrate time spent with the people who matter to them.
The campaign also extends across outdoor and digital media. Its creative executions contrast routine responsibilities with shared dining moments through lines such as ‘Laundry can wait. Fried Chicken & Coca-Cola can’t’ and ‘No one ever said this meal could have been an email.’ Digital activations will further encourage consumers to plan shared meals and unlock rewards connected to the campaign.
Rolling out globally from August 3, the campaign reflects Coca-Cola’s broader effort to strengthen its association with food, togetherness, and real-world connection. Through a mix of films, creator participation, outdoor advertising, and digital engagement, ‘The World Will Wait’ turns a familiar modern dilemma into an invitation to pause and reconnect.
