JioHotstar has strengthened its content leadership by appointing Shivani Thussu as Vice President – Creative & Content (Digital & Streaming – Hindi Specials), transitioning her from a consulting role to full-time leadership. Thussu will spearhead creative strategy, development, and execution for Hindi originals, specials, and innovative formats across JioHotstar’s streaming portfolio.
With over seven years at Viacom18 Digital Ventures, Thussu led content strategy for acclaimed series like Asur 2 and Candy, the latter winning Best Web Series at the 2021 Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival. Her career spans senior creative roles at BBC Studios—adapting global hits like The Office and Criminal Justice—and long-form programming at Viacom18’s Colors network across reality and fiction formats.
Thussu’s mandate focuses on aligning ambitious storytelling with audience insights and platform goals, nurturing talent partnerships, and pioneering new content formats for Hindi streaming audiences.
