Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan has invested in Better Nutrition, India’s biofortified staples brand, and joined the company as its brand ambassador. With this partnership, Dhawan teams up with existing brand ambassador and badminton champion PV Sindhu to champion nutritional security across Indian households.
Dhawan’s association with Better Nutrition aligns with his personal venture into agriculture and farming practices. As part of the collaboration, the actor’s personal farm will be developed into a biofortified farm in partnership with the startup’s agricultural science team. Founders Prateek Rastogi and Aishwarya Bhatnagar connected with Dhawan after observing his social media posts documenting his journey in soil health and crop cultivation.
Better Nutrition offers staple foods, including atta, rice, pulses, and millets, designed to deliver higher levels of essential micronutrients like iron and zinc. The brand, which gained recognition on Shark Tank India, relies on biofortified seeds, specialized soil management, and farm-level nutrient validation tools such as X-ray fluorescence technology.
In his role as brand ambassador and strategic investor, Dhawan will front upcoming marketing campaigns and multimedia advertisements. The campaigns will highlight the health benefits of biofortified foods and raise awareness about addressing hidden hunger through everyday nutrition.
The partnership marks a key milestone for Better Nutrition as it scales nationwide distribution, expands retail presence, and promotes science-backed agri-food solutions.
