Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), in collaboration with Dentsu Creative Isobar, has launched a humorous new brand film titled ‘Collector’ to spotlight its in-game Collection Level feature.
The narrative follows an ambitious Indian mother, Padma, who spends years nurturing a dream for her son to become a government District Collector. Despite her constant sacrifices and declarations to neighbours, the son disappointingly returns home in a white ambulance, having only become a medical compounder.
The comedic turning point arrives when a village elder steps in, presenting a smartphone displaying BGMI. He reassures the mother that anyone who collects in-game skins, outfits, weapons and luxury vehicle gliders can achieve prestigious status as a “Master Collector” on BGMI. The mother instantly embraces the game, playfully reviewing her own collection levels.
The campaign uses a clever cultural pun on the word “Collector”, subverting traditional societal career pressures with gaming pop culture. By playfully contrasting civil service prestige with virtual item collecting, the film connects with mobile gamers across urban and regional markets.
Dentsu Creative Isobar has conceptualised and executed multiple campaigns for KRAFTON India, blending humor, youth insights, and everyday cultural tropes to keep BGMI deeply rooted in the Indian gaming ecosystem.
The digital film is being distributed across YouTube, Instagram, and popular gaming streaming channels. Through this tongue-in-cheek storytelling, KRAFTON continues to celebrate player achievements while driving daily engagement and app downloads across India.
