ZEE Entertainment has appointed Tejkarran Singh Bajaj as Business Head for Zee5 India, bringing back a seasoned OTT leader at a crucial moment for the platform. The move is designed to support Zee5’s next phase of growth as the company pushes harder on content, engagement and monetisation in an intensely competitive streaming market.
Bajaj is no stranger to Zee5. He was part of the platform’s founding leadership team and helped shape its early content strategy, including original programming across multiple languages. His return signals that ZEE wants to combine institutional memory with fresh execution to improve the platform’s business performance.
Before rejoining Zee5, Bajaj served as Senior Vice President and Head of Originals at Jio Studios, where he spent more than seven years building and scaling the originals business across genres and languages. Over the course of his career, he has also worked across NDTV, GroupM, Endemol India, Miditech and Essel Vision Productions, giving him a broad perspective across content, advertising and audience strategy. That mix of experience makes him well suited to a role that sits at the intersection of storytelling, business growth and platform innovation.
At Zee5 India, Bajaj will reportedly lead strategy across content, consumer engagement, partnerships and revenue growth. He will report to Amit Goenka, while Siju Prabhakaran moves to oversee Zee5’s global expansion. The appointment reflects ZEE’s effort to sharpen the digital business and build a more scalable model for the platform.
Zee5’s challenge is clear: create stronger audience pull while improving profitability. Bajaj’s track record in original content and platform-building suggests he could play a central role in redefining how Zee5 competes in the next phase of India’s streaming market.
