E-commerce marketplace Flipkart has released a culturally rich, hyperlocal campaign film ahead of The Big Billion Days 2026, conceptualised and executed by creative agency Talented. The film draws clever wordplay from Kolkata’s iconic transit square, B.B.D. Bagh (Binoy-Badal-Dinesh Bagh), connecting the city’s everyday hustle with Flipkart’s flagship sale acronym, BBD.
The story follows a dedicated Kolkata bus conductor named Madhusudhan, who has spent fifteen years shouting “B.B.D.! B.B.D.!” while issuing tickets along the busy Jadavpur to B.B.D. Bagh route. Despite calling out the initials thousands of times across his career, he humorously reflects on getting nothing in return. His daily routine suddenly transforms when Flipkart takes notice of his efforts, making him the stylish ‘Big Daddy of BBD’.
Dressed in trendy yellow-tinted sunglasses and a denim jacket, the conductor begins handing out special Flipkart bus tickets that reveal massive festive discounts. Passengers celebrate inside the bus as he announces up to 75 percent off on backpacks, smartphones, 4K televisions, laptops, and fashion essentials. The film salutes local transit workers as the city’s original influencers and advertisers who keep Kolkata moving every day.
To bring the festive cheer directly to local streets, Flipkart is also branding physical buses across Kolkata routes leading up to the sale. The campaign highlights Flipkart’s focus on authentic regional storytelling ahead of Durga Puja celebrations, pairing relatable street culture with festive e-commerce excitement.
